He was the husband of a dental sale representative, and had a bridge that was unattractive due to continuing bone loss that occurred under the bridge. This bone loss continually resorbs due to the lack of stimulation to the bone that teeth would normally give. This led to dark gaps occurring under the bridge. Two implants were placed to replace four front teeth, and this bridge is now 18 years old with it being porcelain fused to metal design. At that time there were no all ceramic bridges strong enough to support this long span.
